How it works — examples & FAQ

Stacks, shulkers and chests

Most items stack to 64; a few (ender pearls, snowballs, eggs, signs) stack to 16, and tools, armour and potions don’t stack at all. This tool turns a raw item count into the storage you’ll actually need.

The numbers

  • 1 stack = 64 items (or 16, or 1)
  • 1 shulker box = 27 stacks
  • 1 single chest = 27 stacks · 1 double chest = 54

So 2,304 items of a 64-stack block is exactly 36 stacks — one and a third shulker boxes, or two-thirds of a double chest.

FAQ

Why are shulker/chest counts sometimes fractions?

They show how much of a container the pile fills, so you can judge whether it’s worth carrying an extra shulker box. Round up when you’re packing for a trip.
